This Modern Civilized World

Rating: 5.0

Fairness has laid down it's head in the gelatin
In front of the murderer named unfair means,
Standing with a blood stained sword in hand.
Separation, perversion, cruelty and hatred
Being so predominant nowadays -
Nero, Caligula, Lucifer or Iblis are dancing
With open swords in hand
They're shouting so loudly with a beastly haul
Polluting the lovely green earth.

Jesus is quietly walking down
Carrying the cross on his shoulder.
I find so many hundreds of honest souls
Along with Galileo, Sri Choitanna, Hassan and Husseins.

In this ultra modern era I find
The pure and the Honest TRUTH
Is found to be miserably interned inside the cage.
Whereas the almighty creator and unending time
Are found to be closing their eyes
Being inactive and shut as a deaf and a dumb for good! !

What an irony is prevalent in the name of modern age!
Tyranny and oppression are occurring rampant
Wearing musk of peace and a saint.
Seeing how the golden gloves are hiding
The cruel and inhuman blood stained pairs of hands!

Tyranny and oppression are occurring rampant Wearing musk of peace and saint. Seeing how the golden gloves are hiding The cruel and inhuman blood stained pairs of hands! Well said my friend, thank you for sharing, I think these days we are lucky as we have means to share and bring awareness. I am lucky to read your poem and feel the pain of our world and think about change.

Your poem is very poignant and describes our world today so exactingly, you have a great grasp of what is going on today. Your last line was very striking, struck my mind intensely, Little One. Excellent poem of our supposedly civilized world, Amit. Please write more of your thoughts and post them here on ph. I would love to read more of your ideas about life and the living of it. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
