Today I painted my nails red
A plan is running in my head
A new me stares back at me
As I flip my hair down carelessly
Put on my red high-heeled shoes
With my dark lashes looking so fierce
It is now time to face the enemy
And that enemy is no other than ME.
why are you your enemy i wonder. i like the poem and read it two or three times (well, it is short enough!) . the last time i noticed something that didn't sound quite right to me. and since you are interested in my opinion: And that enemy is no other than ME.......ok, this is ok as is, BUT i would probably write none other than ME. i don't know what a trained english teacher would say. even if it was just to avoid the two o's banging up against one another: no other, i would want to use none. so there! i said it. i bet you CAN look fierce! bri ...thanks for sharing.
very convincing.... vivid pictures are flashing in my mind as I read your poem.. I can imagine fierce eyes staring at her own eyes in the mirror... your poem makes me smile.... kala ko may susugurin...loll thanks for making us laugh, Poetess Naid
