Tiny Little Openings Poem by Barry Van Allen

Tiny Little Openings

He is a country boy at heart,
and he goes way out of his way,
to hate some music...

I think that he's afraid,
that he might like it,
if he gave himself a half - a - chance.

He is so busy saying ' No ',
and keeping his ears closed,
for fear his mind might open up,
and find a different thought.

Open minds are scarey,
'cause you don't know what you'll find,
that isn't ' Rock -N - Roll ',
... inside that mind.

It all involves a risk,
perhaps, your not prepared to take,
I know exactly how that feels,
nothing ventured... as they say.

I am a country boy at heart,
who grew up on ' Rock -N - Roll ',
I've loved the timeless classics and
I've loved the Blues,

All have given me their thoughts,
their smiles and their tears,
some rejected, most collected,
but, all music will be welcomed,
... by these ears.

We have these tiny little openings,
that have these tiny little bones,
that allow some tiny little notes inside,
some VERY tiny homes.

Original and interesting. Amazing how those tiny little openings can take vibrations and give us such not-so-tiny emotions and pleasures. Nice poem.
