To A Journeying Friend Poem by Leslie Alexis

You're leaving me, you're going to be gone
In my heart this stirs up feelings strong
That pulsates to beat into my life
Feelings of pain, sorrow and strife.

The thought of you, not by my side
Brings tears to my eyes, feelings I cannot hide,
I wanted to describe to you, the feelings so true
But until your last words, I could not do.

It's like a nightmare, that's what it is
I cannot believe we part on divergent biz.
Life, so rude, has parted our stream
I really would miss you. I want to scream

At the top of my voice, tell it to the world
I really would miss you, my favorite girl.
Someone, pinch me, I'm sleeping to me it seems
Yet, tears wash my face and can't break this dream.
