Tragedy and Comedy
So intertwined!
We are born to die:
That is the tragedy!
But the playwright
Is a comic writer:
The Guy in the Sky-
And the Joke's on us!
But the funniest part
Is that most of Humanity
Doesn't get the joke—
That we're all actors
In a freaky comedy
Written on high.
i believe those who indulge in reincarnation die to be born (again, and again, and again!) i just got done reading something in Tom Jones (by Fielding...18th century) about playwrights and tragedy coming on stage before comedy, in order to make the second appearance more agreeable to the audience. [some of the book is satire, whatever THAT means! ] a cosmic comedy writer at that! nice one, Eugene (Gino) . are you and i fooled! ? Forsooth? ? bri :) .
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha......NOT! I think 'the playwright' should be blacklisted. I like comedy, but his is pretty 'dark'. bri : )
Death is indeed the tragedy of every human life. I feel it now. God writes the script, if I read you right.
Bino, i mean Vino, .............errrr, Gino, how could i have overlooked YOU while gathering poems for March 2017 showcase? ! i see that i used this in 2015, but it is short enough, will save me time looking (or waiting for you to send one of your choosing) , and should give some people reason to laugh or cry. that may be good for them! Thanks. bri :) i hope you are well. we are holding our own, but i'm sworn not to say WHAT we are holding!
But the playwright Is a comic writer: The Guy in the Sky- And the Joke's on us! But the funniest part Is that most of Humanity Doesn't get the joke— That we're all actors In a freaky comedy Written on high. Now THIS is a masterpiece. “…most of Humanity Doesn't get the joke—That we're all actors in a freaky comedy written on high.” And the saddest part is that we shall awake to the tragedy, and not the comedy. Yes. The joke IS on us. Wow, I could not have stated it better. Thank You.
this shall soon appear in my/our November a showcase for PH poets, Section A, on my PH site. even though i'd already read and commented on this earlier this year, i didn't really remember it well, and i enjoyed it again. thanks. bri :)

The two masks of life., tragedy and comedy. The Ancient Greeks knew this so they gave us the Theater and the Masks This is my favorite subject. Thank you for wrting such a true and complete poem about this Universal subject, handled with a maestro's touch and great elegance and eloquence.
