Tragedy Of A Man* … 1412-12

How easy it may be
To bravely blame some one
Clueless to sniffle
Life and trust let be undone

Play cynical our plan
Coyly east nor playfully west
Then blame other teams
For the unraveling fest

We can go ahead
Say things that fit no shoe
Sullenly then say
I think they can't be true

Over and over again
Hear things that need be heard
Yet pay no heed
Appear to flit, an unbound bird

Choices we can make
Sifting through reckonable things
Or fruitless watch
The wind that a life event brings

We are our own,
enemy, we need none outside
Cynically we also
want someone, to match our stride

Keys and the lock
hold them close dear like life
Appear not to listen
loose it all to needless strife

The tragedy of a man,
who couldn't make up his mind!
Mute as a door knob
for history's vagaries to find

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
• My rather recent forays into the Italian and Tuscan hinterland were inspiring, and reminded me of the deep linkage of literary works of Shakespeare and Italy.
• Prince Hamlet is a title character and the protagonist of Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. He is the Prince of Denmark, nephew to the usurping Claudius and son of the previous King of Denmark, Old Hamlet.
• In the opening scene of Hamlet (1948) , Laurence Olivier's voice- over describes the play as 'the tragedy of a man who couldn't make up his mind. (or woman too)

A summary of Hamlet.....'Hamlet' retold quite impressively I get a clue from your poetry that we can take inspiration from our favorite books.

The conflict in human mind resulting from an inability to make a decision, inaction arising from the nagging fear that the battle may not be won if the decision is taken, the mind never ready to own any fault....all these find clear expression in these piece, the reference to Hamlet so as to show how man vacillates between to be and not to be and the tragedy that follows..... a beautiful poem.
