Treacherous Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Treacherous

Watch me, maudlin.
I hold her fire
Like I've no hands
I endure her stifle
Like I know no verve
I stare at her Sun
Like my eyes are blanched
With an opaque obsession
I listen to her symphony
A sonorous strain
Of a contagious hum;
An electrifying berceuse
Like I know no songs in a lifetime
Perhaps the sirens are slumbering
In lieu of her reign.

I brave her mountain passes
I am dauntless - leonine in structure
What of it, shadows?
Even the night trembles
As I saunter past the fissures
Of her onslaught.
The road be treacherous
To reach her,

I know no fear,
Like I know no
Inhibitions nor
Deceitful constellations
At all.
