Tribute To A Lover Poem by Bireswar Halder

Tribute To A Lover

A true love brings only grief and pains in my life
Your detachment makes me always mourn in silence
Like a creeper I only dreamt for your company and love
But its my misfortune that I had to miss you forever.

Physically you are far away from me, my dear
But you were in my heart and you exist in my heart till now
I can't forget you for a single moment in life
What a tragedy! Sweet memories keep me always alive.

You inspired me to be a great man in life, my dear
Your detachment really makes me a real sculptor
Chisels and hammers are my regular companions
To make a white marbel statue of yours with love and devotion.

After many years, today you stand before me with shy look
I am only your creator, a grey haired old lover
You are my beautiful idol, my goddess to worship daily
Let the people whisper whatever they like, no matter.

I am an artist, a sculptor and creativity is my passion
And creativity gives me an immense pleasures
Keeping away all my pains, grief and melancholy of void
I am happy with your smiling statue and will await you in next birth.
