Unrequited Love.(Sonnet) Poem by Dan Reynolds

Unrequited Love.(Sonnet)

Unrequited Love.(Sonnet)

Eternity may not give ample time
Nor wordsmiths find the phrase I need to say
To pour my feelings out with heartfelt rhyme
Each time the ink flows, I just feel dismay.

Tis true, thy face puts goddesses to shame
Those twinkling eyes, bewitch all those who see
A countenance of such immortal fame
Apex of beauty's wistful history.

Forever to be gazed on from below
As all who covet know their fruitless task
For you have pledged your heart to me alone
The man behind the cold Cast-Iron mask.

How sad that I can never be with you.
You're fit, yeah, but your breath still smells of pooh.
