Untitled Poem by Lilly Rose

Untitled

Through the window, we only see the reflection
Of a past which plagues our memory.
Yet, still hidden within insanity
We find a simplicity, a motivation.
A single star which lends color to
The facade with which we surround
Our cool hearts of neutral grey.
Desperatly, we scribble in haste.
We scream to convey a message
That only falls upon closed ears.
The sun only blinds us when
We need to see the most.
How strange it is that we search
This place for everything we can
Never be. Just to lose sight of
Importance, of Validation. Only
In hindsight do we ever realize,
Ever come to know, that which we
Tried to hard to integrate into our
Reflection, that curse we see.
Will it ever smile back at me?
