Verse I Wrote In 7th Grade (“tell Me Why”) Poem by Broken Shell

The day is breaking
and so is my heart.

Since you've been gone, the words 'me' and 'love' have never
seemed so far apart.

I hear your voice.

Yeah, I even see your face and nothing could erase
your picture.

But tell me why you had to leave me,
why you had to tell me lies
and broke my heart
(that grieved me) .

Tell me why you had to deceive me,
mislead me and lead me on,
to somewhere that's gone.

It's all just a lie.
