Village Life Then And Now

Village life then and now
Wednesday,16th June 2021

Where has gone that sweetness?
the innocent smile showed on their face!
the love and affection showered
why has gone away the intolerance?

some narrow streets
no easy access
not many electricity and water facilities
yet, we lived like families

rich and poor
loved each other
we knew what happened next door
even utensil fallen on the floor was heard clear

the luxury of living was not a problem
they had an ability to control as the team
everybody realized and cooperated
the concern for everybody was addressed

the change in wind direction
it brought tremendous excitation
a new world opened the gate
everybody wanted some comfort and wanted not to be late

an innocent approach and brotherhood gradually vanished
the harmony and sweetness just disappeared
everybody wanted a new house and the latest gadgets
there was a heavy mad rush to get within no time
