Violence Makes And Mars! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Violence Makes And Mars!

When I am single
I have a penchant to be gentle.
When I am in a group
of my same race or religion,
I don't feel penitent
to use the harmful arms
against the poor or the rich,
the hen or the cock,
and the weak or the strong.

To espouse the cause
of my religion or caste,
I take to any means
to kill or maul the foe
who refuses to follow
the tenets of my faith
or accept the terms of my clan.
My human nature bids bye
When I fall a prey to my pride
or the calls of my unequal Almighty!
To conquer this vast world
and place it at the feet of my God,
I'll wage wars against the nations
or rage at the infidels around.

If you raise the question'
"What moral grounds do you have
to enslave and molest the womenfolk? ",
I'll ignore it with nonchalance;
because I am what I am!
I'm not the person to change.
I'm not ready to exchange
The narrow cult of my belief
to the broad outlook of anythingelse.
