Wasted Dreams Poem by Kayte Stacy

Wasted Dreams

I could give you the moon
and hand it to you on a string.
I could grow flowers in the rain
and turn a storm into spring.
I could paint you the horizon
with stars and shades of blue.
I could show you the world
then give it all to you.
I could hand you everything
and offer you my heart.
I could take your tired hands
and promise we'll never be apart.
I could silence those demons,
and stop the voices in your head.
I could take those hurtfull things
and give you love instead.
I could give you everything
and you'll never be afraid.
I could hand you a love
that is sure to never fade.
I could give you the moon on a string...
and promise it won't break.
I'll let you hold it while you sleep,
and I'll return it once you wake.
