Wayside heaps of ashes
Smoldering and fuming noxious gases
Greet us on our morning walk
Beware! It is foolish to talk
An innovation to dispel plastic waste
Invented by our literate state
And executed in thoughtless haste
By idle brains with vile taste
A reckless venture without planning
Like treating cancer without scanning
Wanton revenge against a helpless laity
Throwing refuse regardless of safety
The monsoon breaks and the dreamers wake
To the accustomed ugly outbreak
Of chikungunia, rat fever, flu and dengue
Afflicting thousands with fever and ague
The sleeping watchdogs too wake up and bark
Running after clogging wastes in the dark
Straightening up their hunches and cleaning the trenches;
The ringleaders organize pledges, mass runs and marches
The paper and cloth bags are the friendliest option
To be treated in our style without pollution
Recycling plants need finance and discretion
Nothing is gained by inaction and evasion
Exterminate this menace at the very source
No use of remorse or crying hoarse
Over plastic waste, a disaster and curse
Eliminate this by our own resource
