We Have Our Plans Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

We Have Our Plans

Benefits of aging are like treasures that we hold
close to our hearts, because there are too few of
them as we grow older.

Leaving behind our pasts, we strive to hold onto
the present, keeping or minds alive and vibrant -
future times we know not of them.

We have our plans and lists of things that we want
to accomplish, yet we may never get to them or may
not finish them before our lives are completed.
