We Sit Side By Side Poem by Amitava Sur

We Sit Side By Side

Sitting alone solitarily in a corner being quiet
Is now a usual practice to me since quite a long time.

Loneliness is the next person to me
Sitting just by my side.

Keeping mum we convey our message
But mostly we keep quiet.

Though I try so many other ways,
By roaming in many places or with people
But poor loneliness always follows me
And finding an opputune time it occupies
The seat, next to me.

Both of us feeling pity for each other
We sit along being quiet.
A consolation to me at least
That still someone is by my side! !

Sitting alone solitarily in a corner being quiet
Is now a usual practice to me since quite a long time.

Beautiful poem on loneliness. Though a painful write. Picture matches with the ambience.
