We want to discover who we are
It is no secret
that slowness makes us remember
and hurry helps us to forget.
In Softness we remember
and in hardness we forget.
Surrender makes us remember
and in fear we forget.
We want to discover who we are
Part of our journey
is this remembering and forgetting.
We go to mountains and rivers
and then we remember.
At the seashore we sit and then remember.
Sometimes even in the crowd
You stand alone and remember.
We want to discover who we are
A perpetual quest of man! To discover who he is! If only all people could ponder on this question and searched in themselves than looking at other's affairs! Lovely, insightful poem.
Ko Aham(Who am I?) is the basic first question that eastern philosophy, particularly akin to hinduism, raises in it's followers mind. The same issue has been dealt with in this beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.10 + points.

In Indian Philosophy, a profound statement of the Upanishads is Tatvamasi meaning That thou art Eternally, the quest of man is to discover the self. You have raised this thought through your poem Dr. Tony your photographs are wonderful!
