Weeks Ago, At The Airport Poem by Hebert Logerie

Weeks Ago, At The Airport

Rating: 5.0

A few weeks ago, at the airport
I saw Black people, Eskimos
White people, Muslims
Brown people, Chinese
Blonde people, Arabs
Europeans, Africans, Asians
Jews, West Indians
Hawaiians, Australians
East and American Indians
Oh! That was a beautiful image
An incredible landscape
To see so many with so much in common
And so many with so little differences
They were short, tall, tiny, and heavy
And very friendly. A smile was hidden
Beneath their cheeks, as beautiful as Heaven
That was the true faces of humanity
More like the United Nations
They were all Americans
With the same rights and privileges
Oh! That was fantastic
This adjective has been around
For millions of years
That was wonderful
Where everyone was under one flag
Belonged to one Nation
Yes, I am talking about America
The melting pot of this Universe
We are stronger when we are seen
And treated as one, as one happy family
No, now, I am not dreaming
I am living it and enjoying
Those emotions and realities
In my heart. May God bless America
And the children of our World!
