Welcome to my World
In the world of today,
everything I wear defines who I am
and everywhere I shop is who I am
They look upon my battered shell
Lyrics of Ciara, Beyonce, and Chris
fill my ears and persuade my mind.
I do what I can to fit in
but nothing is ever good enough.
I long for the days when it didn’t matter
What you wore,
How you look, or what you look like.
I long for the days of freedom from these vain observations.
I remember the days when my friends cared about me,
and when I was loved for who I was and not what I look like and when people
could see the pearl within my battered shell.
We are judged for what we look like.
