What About You Poem by David Whalen

What About You

Rating: 5.0

What you’re missing is
usually right before your eyes

What you’re wanting most is
what you likely need least

What you’re saying is not
what you wish to say

What you’re hearing
is not always what’s spoken

What you’re thinking is not
what you want others to know

What you know of yourself
Is never truly known to others

What memory reminds you is
What you would have done differently

What you have learned is
That you have much more to learn

What you have earned is
Far less than you’ve given

What you did then is
What made you, what you are now

What you are now is
What you never thought you’d be
