What Do We Have Books For? Poem by Konstantin Ananin

What Do We Have Books For?

Rating: 2.5

- I’m going to give you some
Books for your birthday.
- Never mind, I’ve read the one
You gave me on New Year’s Day.
- Do you think one is enough?
- Why should I have any more?
It’s good under my teapot. Don’t laugh!
- Books are given to read!

I have a book on meditation. I put it under one leg of a wobbly chain, a source of stillness......knowledge in practice?
