When Christmas Shines The Pain Of My Time Poem by Charles Ayitey

When Christmas Shines The Pain Of My Time

Here I am again
One the precipice of dawn
The dawn of a new year
With my soul so drawn in fear

I hear the bells chime
I see the lights shine
It's Christmas time
But by and by, my eyes cry

The old is fading away
The night giving in to day
How touching it will be
That my pain be just like the times

It's Christmas time
I join in the Hallelujah chorus
Though my soul tastes the lime
I know my time too will be glorious
Just like Christmas time
