When Days Are The
Same Without a Love
By Robert R. Railey
(An Ode to a Lovely Lady)

Morning dew on golden peaches seems to me to be of you
The eyes from your soul and the warmness anew
Your voice in my heart like the songbirds we knew

When day is over and the chores are through
When wheat fields wave in the breeze from the blue
My heart is full when thinking of you, which is always

Mornings, evenings, and sleep time too, your face, your picture
Is always with me
Happiness would be, if the same were true, if only you cared
As much as I do
A wonderful union might surpass the rest, it longingly wants
To be the best

Nail drives out nail, if replaced by the new, for we have-not
Many loves, only a few
A sensitive touch, a kind word or two, can warm the heart
All through
Your disposition so lovingly beautiful it melts the hearts
And souls of the dutiful

Always wondering, if it comes, then what the answer will be?
Or will the disappointments from the past askew-
The feelings in your heart which we hope are most true

The haltingly reservations of letting yourself love, if in return,
The love be renewed
For fortunes and fear may obscure any love, if imminent
Feelings are not allowed in
No one can give better advice to you; own your choice and opt
For the true

No one else can make me feel all warm and happy the way you
Do
You're the loveliest woman that's ever lived, you must
Be related to Eve
You must have been made from some God's dream-
As close to ideal, as can be achieved!
Love's intangible, and when we feel it, it's best to claim it, lest
They steal it

Should one step out and take a stance, or wait for a guarantee,
Perchance?
With all of the love you have to share a sin it would be, to fear
To dare!

When fleeting thoughts of doubt survive like lingering clouds
About the sky
The human need to be desired will always rise above the fear
When first we trust our inner selves: then visions we see doth
Agree

Alas they defer, alone and warily, left with only what could have
Been?
Nay! Once the light shines on a purpose
Then reluctant lovers best not diverse, they should try
To search for pleasure
For holding back and being leery never fills the lover's treasure

True love comes in many forms, or will it be the one that
Harms?
For the ones that risk it all and win are far ahead and stand
Within
A heart that's full and free of pain will never ever be lonely
Again!
