Harkens back To?
My father once said that the only thing good about the
Good old days is that they are now, good and gone
He lived, you see, when houses were heated with
Wood and coal; and in the summertime they were
Cooled naturally with wide-open windows and trees

I would like to translate this poem
The advantage of heating with wood is that it heats at least twice. Once when you cut and stack it and then again when you burn it. I am managing my coal furnace today in addition to a wood burning appliance in my bedroom. In the summer I know it's been hot when the house is full of flies. I don't have a single screen.
