ah! beginning of 2014 winter storm
rushing by seashore in early morn
i brave walk towards sailor's home
floating, tied to a big rock, a port
i once lived in there of some sort
everything need besides companion
in canopy of coldsteel wrap in cocoon
slaps of roughting sea constant music
always in there before, after you wake
now i inch my way back on early friday
thinking there would be worth my cry
i close my eyes fearful i might have coldfry
aching bones beneath frostbiting thin skin
i grit my teeth, steady forward with pain
cramping legs i pray will never come soon
i am getting closer i see guards at attention
i heard gate opening slowly, smiling faces
soothing me quick, warm air from crevices
just another day noted to pass quietly
in one's little cute diary leafing every day
maybe read by curious eyes hook to mind
alone beneath silver shine of imposing sun
i have to wait for that; beg the jet stream
to go north and take this cold with him
i could smile but my lips ache, my eyes droop
people bundled up are drifting slowly away
maybe i should follow, come back other day
