White Earth Poem by Yasmin Sawhney

White Earth

Rating: 4.5

Green brownness
in soundless retreat
stung by the savage stride
of the ravenous cityscape.

Mock slogans ‘Save the Earth'
dart the defenseless Earth-breast
even as kilns like giant pestles
pound its essence
to turn its colours pale
to a dry bare white earth.

Mock slogans ‘Save the Earth'...yes, we slogans only to save the earth but actually we do not take care of her, instead of this we do harm to her by cutting trees and polluting environment. It is a beautiful poem on environment which can bring consciousness to readers. Thanks for sharing.
