Who To Hurt? Poem by Daniel Sims

Who To Hurt?

</>love can be defined in many a way,
but this one failed, and i'm made to pay,
not by losing dignity, pride, or life,
but by losing you, in this strife.

a little metal chain of feeling,
to try and push this possible healing,
of you to me, not me to you,
leaving my heart in a coup.

misunderstandings happen every day,
this one, however, just may
be the one that pushes me over the edge,
of this rockery, slippery, dangerous ledge.

the question which haunts me right now,
is to follow my brain or my heart, or even how?
to tell you the truth, and leave you in hurt,
or leave you be, and build my own hurt.
