Lying on my bed in despair
My face covered by my hair
I try to forget my woeful past
And to forget how it ended so fast
My days are going shorter
I thought our love would last
But somehow we got off track
Now everything is in the past
I want my heart to heal
And re-begin to feel
I lost my love, I lost my life
I am all alone with my knife
Your love has drowned my heart
Suffocating my sorrows
Never again to smile
Never again to breath
The birds are happily flying
The stars are twinkling everywhere
Then why am I still crying?
Might be because you’re not there
The first love especially the one unrequited always hurts the most but it also teaches us to be patient and wait to enjoy the real thing when it comes along in our lives. You have a wisdom beyond your years and you also have stength.I enjoy reading your poems as they give me a window to see your world.
There is another out there, if it didn't hurt you wouldn't learn. Something will give just be patient.
This is a wonderful poem. Sad, yet very reflective, shows a different side of the poem. But a knife's never the answer. Wait, and see what life has to offer. Nice job.
