What cruel force keeps lovers apart....
What keeps them on a separate path?
Not one kiss shared, not one embrace,
What cruel power enforces such wrath?
Two lives hurled into misery,
Two hearts nailed to the same cross,
Fruits of Paradise not tasted,
A lifetime spent pondering the loss
Spring faintly smiled on these two hearts,
Hope burned bright for one youthful hour,
The bud of hope perched on a branch
That bore but a withered flower
Each new day held a ray of hope,
Under ashes, they buried all doubt,
Each heart watching the flame burn bright,
'Til finally, their tears put it out
Two hearts dying slow painful deaths,
Each cloaked in its own crimson shroud,
One heart dies crying silently,
The other sobs its pain aloud
Two sad hearts forever dreaming
To stroll in the garden of love,
Finally, resigned, they hope to find
Their happiness in realms above
Hello poi must say you have presented some great all-time though provoking questions. Who really understands love, but God? I enjoyed, Loyd
AND MORE: i just noticed (again) : " Spring faintly smiled on these two hearts, Hope burned bright for one youthful hour, " etc. so DID they or did they not meet? the above got me thinking: maybe they met briefly in their youth, but nothing blossomed bri ;)
2 - " stat" [is] actually a shorter version of the Latin word " statim" , meaning immediately last stanza: i like resigned/find rhyme. to my psuedo-MyPoemList. bri :)
1 - " The bud of hope perched on a branch That bore but a withered flower" , Lora, don't make bri cry! ! Stanza 5 calls for a cardiac surgical team STAT *. * i learned this term when i worked as a hospital aide in 20s after quitting college and becoming a conscientious objector' (to war) . (con't)
A sad but beautiful poem. No body knows why things happen in a certain way. Some time even two people in love don't know why they can't reconcile.
Two sad hearts forever dreaming To stroll in the garden of love, Finally, resigned, they hope to find Their happiness in realms above An excellent love poem full of dejection but still with a hope to achieve the realms of love in the world hereafter.Well done.Comes from heart and takes heart.10/10 Col Muhammad Khalid Khan
