Words Poem by MAD DEW

Words

Meet a teenage girl that doesn’t like the way she looks
She hates her life, so she is constantly reading books
She thinks she is fat and it has caused her to become anorexic
When she is asked to read out loud in school she sounds dyslexic
Even though that she is really good at reading
A good dose of self-esteem is what she is needing
Too bad she isn’t getting any praise from anywhere
Poor girl for her life is just a constant nightmare
At school the other girls make fun of her in all of her classes
For her cheap clothes, nervous stuttering and thick glasses
She tries to ignore everything they say
But it always seems to get to her anyway
Yeah it is too bad that sticks and stones saying doesn’t ring true
Cause sometimes words hurt her worse than physical attacks do
Words are the reason she hates her own reflection
Words made her obsess over every stupid imperfection
Words blinded her from her own intelligence and beauty
Words made her hate her appearance like it was her duty
Words can be dangerous and cripple people’s self-esteem
So just remember words aren’t as harmless as they seem

How timely this poem when the world sees so much bullying, now propagatedeven more so on the internet. For shame! ! ! Words are so powerfully damaging, when used as weapons, oh but wouldn't' they be best remembered, if offered in kindness instead...wonderful honest writing. PEACE
