You Didn't Know Me Poem by Peter S. Quinn

You Didn't Know Me

You didn't know me
I was only here,
I tried connectivity
but couldn't be everywhere;
some things go fast
into the distant streams,
nothing's going to last
which is just in dreams.

I build my road to you
but you were never there,
you had no time to do
what I had to share;
life is like road to road
coming to and going,
you never saw my load
and my distance is growing.

You did not know me
I tried though so much,
I don't need any sympathy
only your friendly touch;
now times are a-changing
like they always do,
the futures anew arranging
made by me and you.
