You'Re My Flightless Dovey Hero Poem by John W. McEwers

You'Re My Flightless Dovey Hero

A hopeful smile rests upon my face
with artful lines a-rollin'
I'll give you all my trademark looks
and treat you like you're golden
A quick start thigh-fight in a bed
is what my heart is hopin'
Babe, I think we'd make sweet tunes
just like Frederic Chopin
I'll leave your body bruised and bald
like an over-ripened grapefruit
but I'm not violent, you see
I don't need force to love you
I'm energetic is all it is
like other women might say
if only they weren't such prudes
and would give me the time of day
no worries though, I've much practice
in kitchens bedrooms halls
the internet has deals, you see
on all the greatest dolls
and I don't mind should you have gained
a few unwanted pounds
I love all women equally
as cliche as that sounds
most of us just can't win
we lose our chance to fly
society says we aren't ideal
and spits right in our eye
but there are perfect reasons why
you should not be blue
like fattened turkeys, gravity wants you
almost as much as I do.
