A Blitzkreig On Railroad Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

A Blitzkreig On Railroad

Rating: 5.0

They know well if her cell-phone is probed,
his sleepless life will be doom-laden!
Yet he sends mails and she soon responds.
They know well holy love is proscribed there
where people live in joy sleeping in abodes
of henpecked or handicapped husbands.
Many a saint were born there to preach peace
and breach the strong castles built with bricks
of caste and mortar of stubborn cults!

He ransacks the Charter of lovers' rights
which embolden them to cross the social fence
and share a few words in dim night or in fright.
They know well love is banned and lovers
have no right to speak in stealth or in sleep.
If any of her kin stumble upon them
by chance, the whole village will be in alarm!
Ignoring all the warnings, threats and dangers,
ready they're to fall preys to honour-killing!

Sensing that the rabid dogs would part them first
and take to spots where law dreads to tread in,
they choose the way of lying on the railroad,
fastened together as they are in wedlock
and meet the heedless blitz-kreig of the train
and their souls are ready to take off, fly high
the earthen corridors where the earthlings
have framed their own crooked blasphemous laws
to punish those who think in unusual ways!
