A Good Pair Of Swim Wings Poem by Ted Sheridan

A Good Pair Of Swim Wings

Rating: 5.0

I haven’t sufficient words with which to swim
the depths and oceans of your mermaid eyes.
Mesmerized by the brightest blues I’ve ever seen
I only pretend not to drown my thoughts in them.
With one deep breath you fill my iron lungs,
enough that I might surface and be so lucky to live to drown
again and again until I become acclimated as a genuine amphibian.
My gills opened and flushed by a fathom of wet kisses
I navigate the great expanse that is Atlantis…
