My brahminism..
Still holding ascetic austerities
Bathed brisk in dark dawn,
Prepared food for the day
Despite the regards for the nightly cooked
Despite the family's grumbling
At the earliest Brahma Muhurtham
All for a visit to Thirupudaimaruthur
Where next to Karuvur Chithar
I was to sing per my daughter's plea
Praising the Lord who might change
His left bent to right listening special for us
And whose blessings to Viramarthanda, Indra
We hoped, splattered in the skies to fall on us
While running by car in pleasant speed
And
At the shrine by 6.30 a.m so having arrived
Readied the hopeful hearts
For a holy dip in holy Thamiraparani
But I who was for a cosmic glow
Was deceived by a cosmetic blow
So to withdraw satisfied with home-bath itself
Simply to sink in silent bird watching
Just to exclaim at times 'Flamingo, Flamingo'
Which my folly, hurt my daughter very much
For which she was jagging her teeth too much
That all my cheers flew away with the birds
That I totally ended in unfair singing
But my grand-daughter made up that moment
All with her rattling, prattling syllables
Ensuring boons from Lord Narumpoonathar
Who has been merciful for twelve hundred years
Like His curative consort Rudraksha Gomathi
Whose blessing eyes sprayed flecks of river Gomathi
Turning out my bad mood for a happy serving
At the resort of Athaalanallur
Where Gajendravarada too blessingly feasted
All with which we became loaded full
Albeit reserved more of bird watching
And murals searching for next visit
''But I who was for a cosmic glow Was deceived by a cometic blow So to withdraw satisfied with home-bath itself Simply to sink in silent bird watching'' a beautiful allegorical poem.10++

lovely stringing of all the holy places you visited with elaborate description of the shrines and the dieties residing there and your experiences in all.. I do travel to the South Indian temple belts whenever fortunes bless and have thought of describing the experiences but never had the courage or command on the language to describe these ancient architecture and spiritual wonders. Very inspired.
thank you for bringin the moment alive with your words. began with personal (brahminical) reference but gave a glimpse through the window into your world. Solid 10/10
I too felt like Pandian Angelina. Madam you could bring to life throgh your great subtle narrations any place, any time and any situation. I lived in Thoothukudi for 3 years and used to visit Thiruchandoor Temple. Somehow I missed many temples in and around Tirunelveli. This great temple too. Thanks Amma for the experience.
this is a beautiful poem about how a pilgramage tour turns into a sightseeing tour.
Dear Indra Madame, I walked into your picture poem, mam', saw the flamingos and heard your grand-dauter's prattle, I enjoyed the darshan, prasadam and the trip as a whole. Any visit to any Vaishnavite temple please invite me to read that poem and join you in seeing His many forms. Please read my poem 'Little Andrea Celine'. About the booklet, it came out so well and few more contributions have been made with request for reprint. I attached the Soft Copy of the booklet to all the other authors whose emails I have, but, in your case I do not know how to send you a copy. I have used all 3 of your poems and I am thankful to you for your kindness in letting me use them. My email id is devaangel@yahoo.com Angel.
