Away Poem by Savita Tyagi

Away

Rating: 5.0

Some day when I am alone
Living in the world of
My own making
And you pass by me-
Just give a nod and a smile.
And when you walk away
Leave a thought of yours
To mingle with mine
Know that I move now
In dimensions
Different than yours.

A statement so true and valuable of how different we can be. Respect holds the key for us all to get along.

Alone we come and alone we go. But loneliness also gives us companion in silence. We mingle with own dimensions. This poem is excellently penned with beautiful expressive thought...10

this is a terrific poem. but.....what thought should i leave? ? 'have a nice day'? 'enjoy your world'? 'don't do anything i wouldn't do! '? and what would YOU be thinking? there goes that good-for-nothin' Bri'? i sometimes may seem to live in a dimension of my own, different from yours already! ! ! bri (: to MyPoemList.

I read the comments by Valsa and Daniel and Lyn and was stunned by their incisive comments. You draw excellent writers to read your excellent poems- -that is quite a compliment to your talent. I'm afraid my comment will be arid and shallow in comparison to theirs... but you touched me with your words.... and isn't that the prime mover in writing poetry or short stories or novels- -to be able to reach out and touch the life and soul of our readers? You do it so beautifully here, beautifully tragically desperately.... and deep inside there is also love pleading to be heard, love reaching out for connection.... I am putting this on my fav list beause I want to read this again and again. 10++++++++++++++++++++++++

Even a casual gesture of love or recognition by others especially when one is alone can leave a positive impact in the life of any one, even though they may part ways after a brief encounter....! At heart of hearts, everyone craves for company! A psychological need portrayed in fine verse!

This poem begins and ends in solitude, the sudden presence of the OTHER PERSON does not change the overall solitude but there is a significant recognition of this person's value but it is a passing gesture however tender. It is as if deep emotion rests beneath the surface of both hearts but neither one wants to arouse it. There has been too much change in the interim to revive what is past. In this circumstance I might be willing to stir those deep emotions and risk more sorrow in a gambit for more joy, but alas I am not one of them sho settle for a pale sadness instead of a fierce emotion.

Thank you Daniel for your in depth comment. With so many people living alone old and young alike I went through lots of emotions in trying to understand someone who prefers solitude versus companionship. I don't think I understand it very well but it is a small attempt.
