Blaze Poem by Saucy Elmo

Blaze

Travel back in time into my memories.
See what I saw, see what haunts my dreams:

I can remember blazing heat all around hotter than hell.
Thinking my mind was playing tricks like an evil spell.

I can remember my hurried breaths,
As I wonder how much time I have left.

I can remember choking, screaming, drowning in tears,
Reaching all around for anything, or anyone, near.

I can remember my throat burning from my surgery before.
The smoke making it impossible to see anymore.

I can remember wishing that someone would save me.
It was when I realized; God is one thing I do not see.

Will I die? Can I survive?
My question is answered, when the paramedics saved my life.
