Brighter Where You Are Poem by Jayson Howard

Brighter Where You Are

You’re taking your time.
The clock never changes.
Haven’t seen you a while.
Yeah, it’s been ages.
I could disappear,
say my goodbyes.
You couldn’t stay here,
and time flies…

So everyone waits for love?
We’ve both waited long enough.
I can’t say we’ll both come running,
but if we did, that’d be fine, I’m not done and,
no matter how far you go,
I’ll be here, somewhere.

I guess you left for good.
There’s nothing anyone can do.
Is it brighter where you are?
Has life pulled through?
I’ll disappear,
say my goodbyes.
You couldn’t stay here,
and time flies…

So everyone waits for love?
We’ve both waited long enough.
I can’t say we’ll both come running,
but if we did, that’d be fine, I’m not done and,
no matter how far you go,
I’ll be here, somewhere.

I’ve missed the reflection of the stars in your eyes.
I’ve missed the way you’d lay your hand in mine.
And I’m sorry we’re at the crossroads, of goodbyes.
I’ve missed the reflection of the stars in your eyes.
I’ve missed the way you’d lay your hand in mine.
And I’m sorry we’re at the crossroads, of goodbyes.

If everyone waits for love,
then we’ve both waited long enough.
I can’t say we’ll both come running,
but if we did, that’d be fine, I’m not done and,
no matter how far you go,
I’ll be here, somewhere…

I could disappear,
say my goodbyes.
Because you couldn’t stay here.
Time flies…
