Coming Revolt Poem by Adam Jeffries

Coming Revolt

In my belly, I feel the stirring of coming revolt
Trouble is brewing on the horizon
No ozone to protect us from the fury to come

Man is divided and quartered again
Pitted against one another as never before
With dangerous ramifications to last evermore

Those who have will be ravaged by those who have not
'If you're not with us, you be against'
In this conflict, there will be no prisoners

The war of the take
The war of the greed
Who decides what is enough
Who determines what you or I need

Lets avert this conflict,
Return to the roots of man
Instead build, and not destroy

Bring a shovel and an axe
Toil the land for which heaven was made
Learn to give, to build, to grow

What prevents man from his imminent death?

Seconds, only. From which we build for the morrow.
