Don't Ever Forget The Little Girl In The Mirror Poem by Patricia Kelley

Don't Ever Forget The Little Girl In The Mirror

Start standing in front of the mirror as a little girl, and say.
I am strong: and beautiful,
Get to know that little girl in the mirror.
There may come a time when you need that little girl in the mirror.
The first time someone hits you and makes you cry, say, I'm strong: and beautiful.
The first time you fall, get back up, say, I'm strong: and beautiful.
The first time someone laughs at you and makes fun of you, say, I'm strong: and beautiful.
The first time someone hurts you and makes you feel dirty, say, I'm strong: and beautiful.
That little girl in the mirror becomes a reflection of you, and everything did to you but remember; unlike you, that little girl in the mirror is everything pure and; nice in you, that's untouched by the world. Only you can see the girl in the mirror.
Now walk with pride as you stare back into the mirror.
Even though they tried to break and bend you, knocking the wind from you, she's still looking back at you.
