This dream
it seems
was meant for you and me

when we uttered our I do
when the future looked dim but sky-blue
when we said the words I Love You.

‘Twas not just words we said.
‘Twas more than words we pledged.

My life is filled with memories
of things I dreamed so long ago
that took me far across the sea
and brought me back to you and me.

This dream broke light with simple words
budded and blossomed growing bolder;
a springtime filled with flowers and birds,
the passing years, our growing older.

I hope for many autumns yet to be
to cherish this dream for you and me.
