Evolution! ! Poem by Amitava Sur

Evolution! !

Rating: 5.0

Yesterday:
We were in the Nature
With the nature and loved the Nature.

Today:
We boast of improvement, modernization and profit equation.
We are finally shaping ourselves to heartless machine like Demons only.

True. Humans started to harm the nature from the moment they started changed the course of waters. These days as evolution grow we suffocate the earth with nobody knows how many km of asphalt, we kill the air with billions of cars, (some people said 600 millions of them) fans and air conditioner, airplanes and we don't stop to our planet only, we try to make our ways to the stars to leave some junk there too.. sigh...But lucky we got the internet to read such powerful poems as this that will make us awre and help us to change.... Hopefully... Thank you for sharing dear friend, I loved this poem!

There was a time - growing ever more distant and alien - when the word EVOLUTION automatically meant growth toward something desireable, better than the present, improvement virtually guaranteed. We are wiser now and your poem shows that wisdom contains bitterness. Our former illusions were comfortable and consoling. Now we must forge new truths but we're nowhere close to doing so. Your poem points the way but right now it is a dark corridor ahead.... All I can add is - H-E-L-P! !

So very true, Amitava! Your poem makes perfect sense, we were all about nature at one time, respecting, enjoying and protecting it. Nowadays it's all about profit and ruining the environment for money in the pocket of the few. A terrible turnaround in life, we will end up without nature if we don't put a stop to this travesty. Thank you for addressing another problem that needs to be solved by all of us in the world. RoseAnn
