Exchanging Reality For A Lost Life Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Exchanging Reality For A Lost Life

Lightening bugs of wisdom flashing in minds and intellect,
taking us into an illumination of darkness, one of un-
knowing what life is about.

A sorry occurrence that filters from children who drop out
of school, leaving their educations like decaying leaves
upon the ground.

Walking away as if they don't need to learn, getting caught
up in drugs and alcohol, not able to work, make money or
more importantly never having the love of another.

Instead becoming a loner with no direction or knowledge on
how to turn their lives around, too bad they fell off the
path of reality, exchanging it for a lost life, holding
nothing but misery and pain through the years.
