Immortal Death Poem by Xelam Kan™

Immortal Death

Rating: 5.0

How can I escape you
O immortal death!
A horrid being you are fancied
But more i found u
A mercy in disguised.
Warmer than the mother's lap
And soother than beloved's breast
Like a crying child
You welcomed all smiled
Lighter than the morning mist
And enchanting than the Venus view
Where every breath could find
lasting peace and tranquility,
A lullaby of immortality
A tribute to mortal's life
The end of every strife.

Great poem, the oxymoronic title suggest much about the theme of the poem, very deep and true about death, thanks for sharing

Death is the end of every strife! But why hurry to embrace it? We have a faint feeling that it is farther away from us. If we are sure it is at our doorstep, then will we be able to welcome it with such fervour? Any way the poem is beautiful! !

A very unique and eloquent way of describing death. Soothing and tranquil rather than dreadful and horrifying... meeting the ultimate horizon rather than an indispensable pain of partying...very well written!

A nice read Gulsher...the theme and diction is simply Gulsherian. I love this poem.

How one can deny this precision? ..so true, theme is too subjective, your poetic device made this bitter truth easy to be swallowed good one.

If one believes in the eternal soul then one can say death is not the end, but a metamorphosis of one transitional state into another, and what exists can not be undone but simply become another form. Either way we once our ship sails this mortal land we will not return again. and death then reigns eternal. I love how the poem ends with the resignation of what will come, we are limited beings who need to experience things hear and now and learn from them. A really great work

Good poem Gulsher but death is mortal, the ultimate end is the death of death and there will be life eternal! ! !
