Just Another Night Poem by Some Girl

the night falls and my mind wanders
i think of you as i close my eyes
i start to count slowly remembering
the numbers they flow by

i can't see your face or remember your embrace
but i can still smell you
and the sound of your heart beat
it begins my count anew

somewhere the sleep comes but goes
the thoughts of you and the time
the thought of its finally final
the loss is over and the sand has a line

i am still counting the time
as i know i will wake soon
i can feel but can not see
my mind wanders with thoughts of you

i wake in the dark
the sun will soon rise
i think back to broken sleep
and know now you gave me back my life
