Karachi Can't Survive As An Independent And Sovereign State Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Karachi Can't Survive As An Independent And Sovereign State

Rating: 4.3

No agriculture, no minerals,
no water and no gas,
Karachi cannot survive
as an independent and sovereign state.
Those who believe Karachi
will be liberated from Pakistan
are living in a fool's paradise.
Read history,
disintegration brings
some ad hock reliefs,
with a lot of killings,
but in the long run,
miseries for the people,
who become a puppet
in the hands of selfish politicians.
And what of Karachi,
If Pakistan is further disintegrated,
we'll see a few chess and drought boards,
for the superpowers,
and that will neither be
in the interests of the people of Pakistan
nor in the interests of of our neighbors.

I hope that the region will be stabilized some day. Clear, cool heads should deliberate potential scenarios and outcomes. The people deserve no less.

That's a reality we and our neighbors should realize.
