i think i need (or at least want) more background info, though see what Kelly wrote in a comment (below) . interesting, but let me read another. bri :)

Although I do sometimes cherish solitude for its own sake, I require it for writing. I did not tell Mike to go away because I was writing; I just told him I was in the middle of writing, and he understood and said he would come back another time.
