Leaves Poem by Jared Weppelman

Leaves

Rating: 5.0

Green veins brim with chlorophyll
It sends color through 'plasts
Life beats with a trees heart
But the color won't last

Soon the cold will come
And freeze away strength
The stem will disconnect
And it will lost it's length

But before the water fades
And the leaves fall low
It will spend the rest of its life
Representing half the rainbow

Fire engine reds wheel by
Sunshine yellows burn
Flaming oranges catch the eye
As we watch and learn

Though their time will expire
And the green glow will fade
The last moments of life
Allow beauty to pervade
