Little Purple Jasmine Poem by Walterrean Salley

Little Purple Jasmine

Rating: 5.0

Little purple jasmine
On the incline—
Quiet and resigned.
Soaking the rays
Of a sunny day.
Such a perfect ensign.

Its treasured scent,
In any event,
Is of its design.
Gorgeous and fair
With a floral flair,
Far from maligned.

A lovely sight,
Pleasant as light—
Warm and benign.
Adorning the spot
That it's got,
For which it was designed.

It brings to mind many days of summer and a song from the 70's about a summer breeze. Very nice poem.

To Captain Cur, Thank you, Captain. Like many girls, I was named after my father. (I think he was just a proud Papa.) But, my name doesn’t have any particular meaning that I know of. Thank you for asking. | PS: Does Cur have a meaning?

Even a precocious pirate can adore a poem of purple light. Does Walterrean have a meaning? I love that name.
